CS Contract Furniture have to comply to a required criteria to be part of this scheme & have to submit annual reports & figures on critical areas such as waste & energy use. CS Contract Furniture cares about its environment for both social & economic reasons. Through use of a resource as natural as timber the company feels intricately involved in green manufacturing issues. • They manufacture their furniture from timber harvested from temperate forests • Their timber suppliers are able to provide FSC or PEFC certificates to prove that forests are properly managed – through good management new trees are planted each time a tree is felled • They try to ensure that their timber waste is recycled as efficiently as possible – most of their shavings are used either for conversion into board materials such as chipboard, or for animal litter • They are happy to allow the local community to use their offcut timber for heating their homes • They have installed state of the art capacitors to reduce consumption of electricity • When their sales team come to visit you they have arrived in low CO2 emission cars
